    This item is from an estate, being a valuable, scarce English book composed during the years leading up to WWI and during the conflict. Of course, it has little of the cash value of a sound copy, but is offered here as a complete copy for reading and caring at a low price. It is in woeful condition (as is fully shown in photos), but all the pages are there, bright and clear in the main. Published in London by Methuen , first printing, 1919. No dj. Hardback deep red covers(looks like vellum) with gilt elephant and swastika on front and gilt lettering and decorations on spine. 159 pp. of mainly first worl war poetry. It has only 16 pages of Metheun pubs., as it was originally issued, whereas most copies of this edition have 32 pages of ads. It was brought to TEXAS by a returning doughboy who had purchased it in London. Orig. cost penciled inside cover was "12.00" (pence? farthings? shillings???????????)
