20 VINTAGE CARVED BROWN BUTTONS. 1 7/16”. Craft - Bakelite Catalin Plastic

Description

This is a nice lot of vintage/antique buttons. They are new old stock however have been boxed up, and possibly recovered from a fire, so the backing papers were soiled damp and possibly burnt. There are a total of 22 buttons, of which 20 are in great shape. They measure 1 7/16”.
Unsure of the exact make up, not sure if they are plastic, catalin or Bakelite. The carving on top looks like Bakelite, however the backside looks like a very smooth formed button unlike Bakelite. The burnt ones might be more of a clue of the actual materials they were made of. They appear to be a solid, not a hollow and thin.
Will come as found, may need a little cleaning from dust etc.
