Here is a wonderful Montblanc 234 1/2G from the last year it was produced back in 1954. These were far higher end pens
than the 40s production typically and this one is quite something. Very very well preserved and with just a fresh cork fitted very easily as well.
The pen is an OBB
according to the blind cap but at first sight this doesn't look like an OBB nib at all, this is because the nib is a flex FINE nib capable of being an OBB nib too. This style of marking is found of a lot of vintage MB blind caps in the 1950s. The nib in fact, actually has the 244 number on it because the 234 nib is what the 244 nib is based on and its directly identical as well. By 1954 the 244 was already being produced as well along side this older style 234, so its not surprising that the nibs are the same. Rest assured this is the nib that this came with as the nib serial numbing is different that in the 244 series.
The pen is a stunner, lovely to use and absolutely wonderful to behold as well.
