This is an original 1952 Presidential Election Ballot from California hand-signed by Richard Nixon, who would be elected as Dwight Eisenhower's Vice President, serving from 1953 until 1961. This rare piece of Presidential history comes from the estate of White House staffer Rex Scouten, who served 10 U.S. Presidents. An auction of Scouten's estate of remarkable Presidential and White House relics was held in June 2016 by Quinn's Auctions of Falls Church, Virginia.
The oversize document measures approx. 19.0" x 24.0" and has been boldly signed in ink by Nixon in the upper left side of the document, over the names of the Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates. The General Ballot is in excellent vintage condition, showing wear consistent with its age. The document has been folded and stored in an envelope. Please see photos to fully gauge condition. This is an extremely rare document, showing the bold and undeniable signature of one of the country's most prolific Vice Presidents, who in 1968 would be elected the 37th President of the United States.
