1913 Tiffany & Co Copper Wedding Invitation tray & ticket tray NY Central RR
RARE wedding invitation. Beautiful vintage pieces. The larger tray is the invitation. The invitation is printed backwards, I believe this was the transfer used when making the invitations. The smaller tray was used to print a railroad ticket for special train from New York City to Yonkers. It reads backwards "A special train on the New York Central Railroad will leave Grand Central terminal, New York. at three forty pm and, returning will leave Yonkers at six thirty pm. This card to be used instead of a ticket. The metal shows tarnish constant with age Wedding was written up in New York Times, Marriage between Ralph Lawrence Oakley (Governor of the New York Stock exchange) & Sarah Lee Perot on June 8, 1913. Large tray measures 6" x 7.5", smaller tray 5" x 3"
